For Metal Song Contest Well, it's by a metal group, but the song itself isn't necessarily metal, so I'm not sure if it will count...
A kite above a graveyard grey At the end of the line, far, far away A child holding on to the magic of birth and awe.
Oh, how beautiful it used to be Just you and me, far beyond the sea, The waters, scarce in motion, quivering still.
At the end of the river, the sundown beams All the relics of a life long lived Here, weary traveler, rest your want Sleep the journey from your eyes.
Good journey, love, now time to go I checked your teeth and warmed your toes; In the horizon I see them coming for you.
The mermaids' grace, the forever call Beauty in spyglass on an old man's porch The mermaids you turn loose brought back your tears... ~Nightwish, Turn Loose the Mermaids
I guess it's a pretty literal interpretation of the lyrics...mermaids' grace, kite above a graveyard grey, sundown beaming at the end of the river (ocean?). And purple because I don't have anything purple in my gallery, it's mostly red, green, black, white, or sepia. I like this song a lot, it has a lot of nice, peaceful imagery. Also, hooray for not-redhead mermaids for a change brunettes rule
OMG, this picture is SO beautiful!!! I really like the reference to the Nightwish song - it's not my favourite album of theirs but still, the band is truly awesome And the way in which you have interpreted the song is amazing!
