This is an old drawing I found in my sketchbook that I never scanned for some reason.
I was about 90% finished with it when I realized that as cool as a dragon-shaped hourglass would be, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense when you flipped it upside-down to reset it for another hour. So I made up a history to go with it about how this hourglass controls the flow of time in the universe and how when the hourglass is right-side up, like in the drawing, time is steady; but when it's balanced upside-down on the pointy little tip, time is shaky and reality gets warped until the hourglass runs out of sand and is reset again. It made sense at the time...
Yes, those are Norse(-ish) runes at the top. They spell "Sands of Time" because I substituted the runes for Latin letters and because I said so.
